Horde and Alliance in Dead Heat.
Of the top 50 players on the U.S. servers, amazingly there are 25 from each faction. Taking the incredibly small sample to a slightly larger scale, the top 100 players are also almost a dead heat.

World of Warcraft currency changes are on the way. Triumph and Frost badges will be converted into Justice Points, while PvP badges, stone keeper shards, marks of honor, etc. will become Honor Points. It’s all so simple (and confusing). See the pic for the details.

Warcraft Edges Closer to Cataclysm with its latest patch. Patch 4.0.1, weighing in at approximately 1.5GB is now injected into the background downloaded queue. It appears that Blizzard’s worry of a delayed launch has become less worrisome.
Ranking 34,000 out of 38,000,000 is godlly, yet for World of Warcraft players it simply isn’t good enough.
I’ve been answering questions, complaints, and worse in the official WoW forums. The biggest gripe that players seem to have is that their score isn’t high enough. Fair enough, everyone wants to be #1, BUT when you dealing with extremely large numbers being in the 99th percentile is still pretty freakin’ amazing.
One player commented that he was scored too low with a rank of 34,000 out of 38 million. Let’s put this in perspective.
- Alaska has 34,000 kilometers of shoreline.
- Venus at its closest point is 38,000,000 kilometers from Earth.
I understand that immense numbers are impossible for most people to comprehend. Can we even truly understand what a million of something is, much less 38 million?
Other players, because they cannot understand how the scoring works, claim it is wrong. They also believe that witches float.
Now for the fun…
